is it so Silent because it keeps putting people to sleep? Even the few fights we've seen are non-fight fights. This just doesn't have the action so far I'd expect. Maybe they're lulling us into a false sense of calm and Black Bolt is gonna throw down something big. Maximus is getting on my nerves, he's giving us loonies a bad name.

I have read the first 3 issues, but so far it seems quite dull, and I don't like the art, which doesn't help How many issues is it in total ? I'm considering dropping it...

Overall I’ve been enjoying it, but the art style’s not a favorite of mine. I believe it’s to be six issues.

I really have to agree here. I'm holding on hoping something will happen, anything. At this point I'd even welcome <gasp> ninjas

A change in artist would be a welcome first step ^^ I think that, eventually, this mini will be important in the possible upcoming WW3, since the alliance between the Inhumans, Wakanda and Atlantis should be a key factor in it. However I don't care much for most of those characters (=everyone except Quicksilver) and things develop so slowly

Yes, but with a limited issue and hlafway through the run, I have to think they won't change the artist.

Stuff has been happening, but much of it is standing-around-and-talking stuff. A major development in #3 was the formal break between Pietro and the Inhumans, including specifically Crystal and Luna. I can sympathize with displeasure vis-à-vis “talking heads”; but in my opinion, this was well-written talking heads. (If Bendis had dialogued it, I probably would be right there with Maximus…)

well, looking ahead at Marvelcomics.com it looks like things are about to pick up. I don't mean to sound bloodthirsty but this is coming of like 'The View'

Is this going to be tied to WW Hulk or will it be done & over before that event starts...?

I think it would be just winding up when WW starts. Because BB sulking around is a big part of the sleep inducing production.

IF BB decides to let loose, who can actually stand against him?
He is devistation on a massive scale.

Is Black Bolt's "yell" power sonic in nature, or is is it some kind of more convoluted telekinetic (or such a similar thing...) kind of power...? If the former, then I must say there's someone who could use his very power against him: Dazzler, who has the power to change sound into light in order to use it...

Marvel describe that aspect of his power as a 'quasi-somis scream' He only uses sonics as a delivery system the power of the scream comes from charging of the actual electrons in his environment. So it's not straight sonics, like Banshee.

I gotta say, this one is a goner too. Something has snapped my compulsive drive to buy everything in a series once I start buying a series no matter what.
1. The art just isn't that great 2. The story just isn't exciting 3. I find it so hard to really care about the characters. 4. I can use the money to buy ice-cream 5. I just don't enjoy it and I may be a massochist, but not this much of one.

Against my better wishes I went for this one, one more chance so to speak.
I can't believe just how boring this is. The only action is at the very end and there is some promise of battle throughout the nrxt issue.
Maximov is still mad and manipulative Blackbolt is still silent Quicksilver is still un-interesting The art is still bad The story is still boring Shoulda bought te ice-cream.
Won't be getting #5 or 6. I just don't care.

I guess you'll have to ask someone who they can get to shell out the money for the next 2 issues. I'm done with this bird-cage lining.

SUNOVA!!!
having accidentally acquired 5 I figured 'what the heck' and finished this series up. Or so I thought.
What could be worse than this paltry piece of flotsam? The fact that it is yet another attempt at Marvel to string folks along.
C'mon guys end a story!
Art=Awful Story= Undigestable Characters = completely unlikeable
I like the inhumans. This is as disgusting as anything else they have recently done.
Putrid Horrid Flaccid Rank Sorry Idiotic Crapalistic Worthy of mailing postage due to Doom

!!!!!!!!!!! ?? Speaking personally I flicked through it. While I can't exactly call myself a fan, there was one aspect I did like- the Sopranos-style ending. I thought that took guts and worked very well to show Black Bolt's downfall. Sadly the art sucked and most of the rest of the issue seemed pretty nonsensical too.

Doom,... I'm not understanding you on this one. You really seem to be trying to find praise for a series you didn't read. On another thread you speak of critical acclaim the series received,... but we never found any. Here you talk about just flipping though it and say the ending "worked well" but you really don't have the context to make this statement. I think if you were to sit and read the whole thing you would have a different opinion. The ending was as nonsensical as the rest of the series. I don't want you to read it through though. You're my friend and I wouldn't do that to a friend The purpose of ANY storyline should be to add value to the Marvel universe. This story does not do that. It also doesn't fit in the current timeframe. So not only does the story suck, it severs no purpose.

I should note, I keep an eye of most marvel titles. I don't read the X-line but I have a rough idea what's happening overall. Outside the x-line, I don't read a few avengers books or sensational spidey, or ANY Ultimate book, but I have a good idea of what's happening in each one. So I had context enough to flip through the last issue, and I don't think any MORE context could have made a daring and cool ending bad. The reality is that the art sucked and most of what I read had poor dialogue and cliché plot threads... I'm merely commenting that I liked the ENDING So should you, if only because it was over As for the acclaim Nutcase.... forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=180371Most of that is positive.

ENDING So should you, if only because it was over that's the thing, there was no ending,... it isn't over,... it's all just a set-up for another series,.... sorta like Civil War I don't guess I should be surprised

Most of that is positive. Not to be uber-negative but at this point I'm believing Joe Q could crap on a sheet of paper, fold it in half, put it on a shelf and it would get rave reviews! Oh wait....

Rave reviews... from er.... a website which were almost perfectly evenly divided on whether Civil War was good or not? I like to think CBR is probably the most accurate microcosm for comic fandom in general with some websites - like this or Alvaros being on the negative side more than the majority of fandom and others being on the positive. CBR is almost a dead split. So no, I honestly don't think that if something truly appaling and godawful came out, it would get the type of reception seen in this thread on Silent War.
