(I'm guess I'll take heat for this) I think my favorite fight is probably when Ultimate Spiderman faces off with Ultimate Venom in the football field.
"Now I'm fighting supervillians on school grounds in civilian clothes? this is insane"
Venom hasn't had the "I could kill Spiderman at any time" aura since the 90s and it was good to see a resurgance of that feeling in their fight.

you will not take heat for liking something. Not having read it I can't say anything about it but the dynamic between those 2 has always made for GREAT battle writing.

That was actually a fantastic fight. The ending in particular I loved, when it moved off the field as Venom was backed into the cables while the tape played. Great stuff. ...On Avengers Assemble? Heh heh he. Ha Ha Ha. AHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! ....right. Sure. Of course nt. Unless it's even remotely sanctioned by Joe Quesada, Mark Millar or Brian Bendis of course.

What exactly are you insinuating here, Doom...? I don't get it...!!!

OK I'll rephrase that. You shouldn't HAVE to take heat for simply having different taste than others.
I have posted elsewhere that I don't like broccoli. That's not a bad thing, just taste. I think the same should apply to simple statements of taste.
Doug likes more DC than I do. I shouldn't blast Doug just because he has different taste.

Doom, thew: I think you'd agree that, of late, most discussions have become more civil & less acerbic, so hopefully thew, you will follow Doom's example & show your presence a little more again... Also, at least for the moment, it seems to me that it's a good moment to be pro Marvel on this board, as the diffference on the ratio between anti Marvel & pro Marvel seems to have shrank significantly, what with the reduced number of posters (not that this is a good thing on itself, but...). at least for now... Of the 3 people who post more often here one is pro, one is anti & one tends to be more sitting on the fence on many issues...

I'm not really "anti-" now because I'm not reading new stuff. As I said several weeks ago, I'm relegated to the General and Classic Avengers sections because I don't have much if anything to input on other parts. That certainly doesn't mean I don't really, really want to buy an Avengers comic that is appealing to me (NOTE: I didn't say a "good" Avengers comic because that is so subjective, which is the crux of most of the arguments around here .

I must question why, if you want it so desperately, you didn't buy Mighty Avengbrs for even one issue.
Ah well, there's always Avengers Classic!

Because I was put off by the line-up, the art, and the writer. Other than that, I probably would have bought it

I'm not really on the fence. I am more for it than against it. I miss the older stuff, sure. But I have just come back from a comic hiatus, so I am able to approach it from more of a 'this is new' point of view.
However there are some things that I feel they aren't doing that they really should be.
It's more like we have one conservative, one liberal and one independent.

I'm liberal!!!! Funny Nutcase, I would have put you more against it than for it. Guess we all automatically associate neutral people with being our foes! ...Or maybe it's just me

thus the dangers of assuming, and placing people in groups. I'm unclassifiable, ask the state mental system

Funny, your name would suggest the mental system should reconsider

People are either ready to acknowledge Doom's self evident & innate superiority & right to rule OR they are in his way...
