It came out just before I quit comics I think. I remember the crappy first issue where they killed of Wonder Man, one of my favorite characters. Not sure if I bought anymore after that. Buried somewhere in my huge closet of old comics.

IMO, the "art" of those 2 guys who Marvel appointed for the book (can't remember their names...) is what did FW in... Again IMO, those 2 were, together, quite possibly, the worst "artists" we've been forced to see working at Marvel (hence, perhaps, the book's title....).

I didn’t stay past issue 1. I couldn’t believe this was what AWC was canceled for.

It seems I forgot the original question. Apparently Force Works lasted 22 issues. According to their entry in OHOTMU: Teams 2005, they got embroiled in the “Crossing” storyline, in which Iron Man was an agent of Immortus. The entry says, “the group was without focus after Iron Man’s betrayal” and dissolved shortly thereafter.

So in other words, crappy sales and "a change of creative direction" did it in. Can't say I ever read it, but then I dropped off AWC after Byrne's run.

Was digging through my comics the other day and found Force Works #16. Apparently I did collect most of the run but can't remember any of it other than Wonder Man dying. Either my memory is really going or that comic run was so bad I don't remember any of it.

no, because I think I read the whole thing and other than Wonderman's pointless and shameful death the only thing I can remember is Wnda's awful costume and that stupid alien Century or whatever.

Couldn't force works be a team they revive to assist with the fifty sates initiative?

Couldn't force works be a team they revive to assist with the fifty sates initiative? Probably just the name, not the team. ~W~

I read the last issue not too long ago, while reading all the comics that were part of "The Crossing". And don't look at me that way, I just wanted to see what all the fuss was about....
Anyway, the series ended with the team sitting around moping about Stark's betrayal and death. A "If you're watching this I must be dead" video message from Stark pops up, and encourages them to continue on. The team mulls it over, and then an emergency warning sounds and everybody rushes off. The end.

I think that's the same thing that happens at editorial meetings at Marvel.

At DC too, but there it’s more interesting, because they press a button in the Shakespeare bust, run toward the bookcase rolling aside, and slide down the poles!
