I did read the first issue yesterday and overall I liked it. Seems to be a (or rather being two) government team(s) consisting of a bunch of weird crooks (I didn´t read any of the mini series), slow-going story buildup, not unlike Bendis... ;D
What I don´t know: does this take place on some alternative earth (Other-Earth?)?

Squadron Supreme is slow going, but at least is going somewhere, unlike Bendis NA.
And it´s not set in Marvel continuity, but rumor is a cross over with the Ultimate Universe is being planned.

I like it too. It's a total reboot of the group. Basically Squadron Supreme was Marvel's version of the Justice League. If you read the Supreme Power Mini-series it gives you more backround as to how the characters are different. It was a MAX book though so I wonder if the ongoing series will keep some of the edge. So far it does read like JLA created today Marvel style. Hyperion is Superman - mostly good Power Princess (Zarda) is Wonder Woman but a narcissist and amoral. Nightwing is Batman but a Black rascist. Dr Spectrum is Green Lantern but a former CIA killer. The Blur is The Flash and he is good but greedy. Kingsley is a female Aquaman but is naive, mute, and reads minds. I like it so far. I guess the other Squadron Supreme's are still around though in their own universes as well. (Multiple Hyperions seen in Exiles not too long ago)
