Sometimes I have trouble with the series that are not my favs. But I just reread the issue before and it brings it all back. Also, my wife reads a lot of the comics so I get to talk about them with her, and that keeps them fresh in my mind. Of course I always remeber what is going on in NA, because reading 6 issues of that comic is like reading 1 of another. LOL sorry could not resist.

Time is an issue, isn't it? I really enjoy Justice, because it's a nice, satisfying read. NA is more like a lightning strike...

I used to rack up huge credit card debts about 15 years ago with Mile High Comics. In addition to the regular stuff I was buying at the time, that rascal always had appealing "specials" that hooked me. Man, I wasted a lot of money... Heh...you know, he’s got an e-mail list now...specials galore! ;D

Well I don't have kids, and I am an extremely fast reader. Most comics take me about 5 to 7 mins. to read. NA takes me about 1. LOL Oh, you mean NA has upped the number of words per issue that dramatically? Wow!

That's quite impressive. I spend a total of about 25 euros a month for comics (from all publishers) and I thought it was a lot !

Probably the Marvel publisher in Italy is Panini too (an Italian company, duh) like in Brazil and in most european countries (with the exception of Portugal, the Marvel publisher there is Devir, a brazilian company, go figure), so for the price of one US comic we got 4 stories. ;D

Well said.
Let's flash back about 30 years to 1976. I was 10 and this is approximately what I bought (give or take a year or so):
Avengers Marvel Team-Up Marvel Two-In-One Fantastic Four Amazing Spider-Man Peter Parker Defenders Thor Invaders X-Men Legion of Super-Heroes Batman Detective Comics Teen Titans All-Star Squadron
That's probably not comprehensive, but a pretty good idea what I'd plunk down my 35-40 cents for. Vonbek, in regard to your three categories, I can honestly say I bought, read, and enjoyed all of these titles on a regular basis! Comics were fun!!

For me it is a flash back 27-28 years to 1978 although I really didn't get into collecting until 1980. Avengers Captain America Iron Man Loved the Invaders stuff. I was a huge Cap fan.

The publisher was Devir, as you stated; but even so, Panini was making its presence known, for it was a licensing subcontractor. (The legal fine print included the text, “ esta publicação foi editada sob licença de Marvel Characters, Inc. através da Panini S.P.A., Itália”.) There, perhaps because of the middleman situation, the comic’s cost was a little higher than you describe for countries where Panini is the publisher: I believe I paid about 9 €, which (at the time of the purchase—I haven’t been following conversion rates lately) was only about US$1 less than four similar US issues.

Yep, Panini is an Italian company, but I didn't know it was selling in so many countries. The major problem is that sometimes they just decide a comic book is not going to sell well and either they don't publish it at all or they only publish a few issues and then stop it. However, the quantity / price ratio is much better than in the States, so it's all good ;D
Italian wise, the comics I used to buy were
Capitan America e i Vendicatori (including Cap, Avengers, WCA and Alpha Flight)
Uomo Ragno (all the Spidey books and, for a short while, X-Men / classic X-Men. This was before the x people were given their own book).

Yeah, in Brazil Panini was licensing Marvel even before it became the de facto publisher of the comics. Devir is the publisher of some direct market comics in Brazil (like Fables and Sin City) but they began in the comics business importing US comics (thanx to them I have the original issues of Avengers vol III ;D). Their prices for the comics they´re currently publishing is way higher than Paninis, mostly TPB that went direct to comic shops. The average Panini comics collects four US comics (Os Vingadores - The Avengers collects New Avengers, Young Avengers, Cap and Thor Blood Oath currently) and costs around US$ 3,5.
